Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is an evidence-based, trauma-informed intervention that is specifically designed for children who come from hard places, such as maltreatment, abuse, neglect, multiple home placements, and violence, but the principles apply to all children. TBRI is a comprehensive 24-hour curriculum that highlights the importance of empowering, connecting and corrective children in a trauma-informed way. TBRI® uses Empowering Principles to address physical needs, Connecting Principles for attachment needs, and Correcting Principles to disarm fear-based behaviors.
