Melissa is the Permanency Roundtable Program & Prevention Director at Florida Foster Care Review (FFCR). Since joining FFCR in 2018 as a Permanency Roundtable Specialist, she has grown through several key roles before stepping into her current leadership position.
Melissa holds a Bachelor’s degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences with a minor in Human Services from the University of Florida. Her child welfare career began in 2013 and includes roles as a Visitation Specialist, Dependency Case Manager, and Transitioning Youth Specialist, supporting young people in foster care as they prepared for adulthood.
Driven by compassion, authenticity, and a deep personal commitment to this work, Melissa is a passionate advocate for ensuring every child and youth has permanent, stable connections and the opportunity to shape their own future. Known for her “by any means necessary” approach, she grounds her work in faith and purpose—believing that “If you’re not living on the edge, you’re taking up too much space.”
